Calathea plants need medium to bright indirect light. Avoid placing your calathea plant under direct sunlight because it will burn the leaves. Lower light is acceptable but will slow growth.

Keep your Calathea moist by maintaining a regular watering schedule, only allow the top layer of soil to dry.  Make sure to have well draining soil and allow excess water to drain from pot. They are not drought-tolerant indoor plants.

Since Calatheas are a tropical plant, they prefer an environment with higher humidity. It's best to place it in areas of your home like your bathroom or kitchen, or remember to mist them a couple times a week.
